چکیده

Purpose The purpose of the study is to optimise cross-sectional shape passively cooled horizontally mounted pin-fin heat sink for higher cooling performance and lower material usage. Design/methodology/approach Multi-objective optimisation technique used design fins. Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) combined with a geometric module develop optimiser. High-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) evaluate objectives. Separate optimisations are carried out bottom row fins middle sink. Finally, validation was conducted by generating three-dimensional using optimised fin cross sections comparing its against circular same inter-fin spacing value. Findings Heat has 1.6% effectiveness than volume, 10.3% characteristics dimension. special features that resulted in superior highlighted. Further, Pareto-optimal fronts this multi-objective problem obtained different scenarios. Originality/value For first time, sink’s shapes spatial arrangements, NSGA-II-based optimiser, which makes use CFD solver optimised, high-performance will find direct application cool power electronic equipment.

A Multi-objective Cross-training Plan Based on NSGA-II

The previous research on cross-training mainly focused on productive efficiency. However, enhancing labor’s satisfaction of tasks is as much important as improving production performance. This paper addresses a new cross-training policy for an assembly cell from the point of view of humanization. A multi-objective 0-1 integer programming model is presented to implement the crosstraining policy ...

Coupler-curve synthesis via multi-objective optimisation using NSGA-II

This paper presents a study of a classical mechanism synthesis problem in the framework of multi-objective optimisation. In addition to the primary kinematic objective of reducing the structural error, staying away from the singular configurations is considered as a secondary objective. Two wellstudied coupler-curve synthesis problems reported in existing literature are revisited for the purpos...

Multi-objective shape segmentation

The users of shape segmentation algorithms possess a wealth of knowledge about the objects they wish to segment. Current automatic segmentation approaches, however, apply a fixed objective uniformly to all parts and limit their input to the number of segments desired and a small set of parameter values. In this paper, we propose the concept of multi-objective shape segmentation. This model allo...
